In a historic achievement, Dr. Sahil Singh has been appointed as the ambassador and envoy to India by the Pan-African Inter-governmental Agency for Water and Sanitation (WSA). At 29, Dr. Singh becomes the youngest Indian to hold this prestigious role, marking a milestone in Indo-African relations. His appointment positions him as a vital link between India and Africa in water and sanitation, fostering bilateral and multilateral relations, and strengthening international diplomatic cooperation.

Expressing his commitment, Dr. Singh stated, “As the youngest Indian ambassador in history, I am deeply committed to strengthening the bonds between India and Africa. My vision is to leverage technology and innovation to address critical challenges in water and sanitation while fostering meaningful partnerships.”

Dr. Singh’s journey is one of multifaceted excellence. A serial entrepreneur and academician from Rudrapur, Uttarakhand, he has made a mark in the technology sector since joining NIELIT under the Ministry of Communication and IT in 2013. His career highlights include serving as P.S. to the Minister of Ores & Minerals, Government of Uttarakhand, and accumulating 33 certifications in computer science and IT. His business ventures span multiple countries, underscoring his expertise and global vision.

The World Sanitation Agency (WSA), a UN Observer since 1988, plays a crucial role in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) across Africa. Originally established as CREPA, WSA now operates through its Foundation, Research and Competence Centre, and Enterprise & Investment Group, focusing on sustainable solutions and funding in the sector.

“My appointment represents an opportunity to harness India’s technological prowess to empower African nations in their journey toward sustainable water and sanitation solutions,” Dr. Singh remarked, emphasizing his mission.
