Karan Oberoi dons screenwriter’s hat for Zee5’s show

A little known fact about Karan B Oberoi as a screen writer has just unfolded with the forthcoming release of ZEE5’s biggest web series of the year with Mukhbir- The story of a spy. He is credited with developing the story, characters and the screenplay along with acclaimed writer Arshad Sayyed of the ‘Dasvidania’ and ‘Chalo Dilli’ and Saurabh Swamy.

Directed by Shivam Nair, who has taken the web space by storm with back to back hits like Special Ops 1 and 2 and films like Ahista Ahista , Naam Shabana, the upcoming series has been one of the most talked about and ambitious projects of ZEE5.

As per sources, Mukhbir has been in the making for quite some time. From the perfect cast, to the right set design of a period drama thriller, to the right look and feel was itself quite challenging.

But going by the praise the teaser / trailer is gathering, it seems that the makers have finally found a perfect team and have successfully put together all the pieces.

Coming back to Karan – the lead member of India’s first Boy Band ‘A Band of Boys’, has also made his debut as a Creative Producer with the Zee5 series. He has put the whole show together under the guidance of film director Shivam Nair. He also makes a scene appearance in Mukhbir as an IB agent in a never before seen avatar.

Previously Karan has worked as an actor on Indian TV and given super successful shows like Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi, Saaya etc .
This year has been truly special in his stint as a writer as his first book called Battlefield Brothers that he co-authored with Kiran-Nirvaan, with Om international publishing house went to become the best seller of the year.

Karan hopes to balance all his creative aspirations in the multiple roles he hopes to play in the future.
