Stock market closes with great momentum, IT and energy stocks gains
In the trading session of Thursday, the Indian stock market saw a good rise. Due to global cues and buying by investors, this rally was seen in the market and both the indexes closed with a sharp rise. Sensex rose 437 points to 55,818 points, while National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed 101 points higher at 16,628 points.
The sectors gaining in today’s booming stock market include IT, FMCG, Energy, Media and Metals. Meanwhile the stocks for the banking and auto sector declined.
Nifty IT closed at 29,792 points with a jump of 1.82 percent, or 532 points. Of the 50 stocks in Nifty, 28 shares closed in the green while 22 shares closed in the red. Among 30 stocks of the Sensex 21 closed in green and 9 shares closed in the red.
The stocks of HDFC, HUL, Power Grid, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, and ICICI Bank have fallen today in trade.
