Tuesday’s evening crypto check painted a market that couldn’t quite make up its mind — but with more coins in the green than the red, the mood leaned cautiously optimistic as of 6:00 PM IST on May 26, 2026.
The headline act, as ever, was Bitcoin. The world’s largest cryptocurrency by market value slipped 0.45% over the past 24 hours, settling at $76,916.59 — or ₹73.60 lakh for Indian buyers tracking domestic prices. It wasn’t a dramatic fall by any measure, but Bitcoin claimed the unwanted distinction of being the session’s biggest loser, nudging lower while several of its peers moved in the opposite direction.
Ethereum, meanwhile, found itself on the right side of the ledger. The second-largest coin rose 0.18% to trade at $2,114.68 (₹2.02 lakh), a modest but meaningful uptick that kept sentiment around the asset from turning sour. BNB wasn’t quite as fortunate, slipping 0.23% to $660.73 (₹63,225.25), while Solana posted the gentlest of declines — down just 0.09% to $84.93 (₹8,126.95). XRP edged up a slim 0.04% to $1.35 (₹129.17), barely registering on the momentum scale but still green nonetheless.
Among the altcoins with a bit more spring in their step, Cardano rose 0.22% to $0.244 (₹23.35) and Chainlink added 0.54% to reach $9.55 (₹913.74). Dogecoin, never one to be ignored, gained 0.50% and was trading at $0.10257 (₹9.81).
The clear standout of the session, however, was Polygon. The token surged 2.57% — the single biggest gain across all tracked assets — reaching $0.2182 (₹20.88). Polkadot was not far behind among the gainers, climbing a solid 1.28% to $1.28 (₹122.20), a pleasing round-number symmetry that will not be lost on the more numerologically inclined traders.
Step back and count the scoreboard: of the ten coins tracked in this evening’s data, seven closed in the green and three finished lower. That’s a majority pushing upward, which gives the overall picture a tentatively positive tilt — hardly a euphoric rally, but not a session to cause alarm either. The losses where they existed were shallow; the gains, particularly in Polygon and Polkadot, had genuine conviction behind them. A mixed-bag Tuesday, then, with green edging ahead.
